BPP

Bayside Performance Program

Background: During preseason and in-season the focus is on team development, how can we get a large group of players to play a coordinated game plan. The focus is on team communication, team moves and team strategy, so it is very difficult to do any meaningful player development as we continually focus on group skills.

Objectives: With the new Bayside Performance Program, the idea is to focus on individual player development. We will focus on fundamental skills, assess player limitations, and turn them into strengths. Less time on team strategy as there will be no BPP game.

Challenges: We understand that the selected players have a lot on their plates, school preseason, school season, 7s, PRCS, other sports, girlfriends, jobs. But its not our intention to run very physical sessions, but rather focus on Rugby IQ, Technique and Game management. But there will be homework for school rugby, at the gym and at home.

Conditions: Players that commit to this program are all in, If you are not able to commit to the one session and homework, don’t join the program

Schedule: Runs Monday 6:30 - 7:30 (Jan to May every week - then once a month till December)
